Guitar Basic Chords
This section of the site is for those who want to get right in, learn some simple chords, and some lyrics.
Guitar Basic Chord of A Guitar-Lyric-A-Chord.html ("Swing Low Sweet Chariot") Guitar-Basic-Chord of E7 Guitar-Lyric-E7-Chord.html ("Chopin Wrote The Tune") Guitar-Basic-Chord of D Guitar-Lyric-D-Chord.html ("To The Store")
Our minimum goal is to enable you to play for, and maybe sing with, your children. Do not despise these simple aims - if Johnny Dankworth and his jazz orchestra could perform "Three Blind Mice" we have no hesitation in offering similar simple pieces. Again, Glenn Miller devoted a lot of time and resources to give the world his version of "Little Brown Jug".
Starting out this way means that at least you begin producing something useful, and you don't feel you are just learning scales all the time.
We have named this page Guitar Basic Chords, rather than Guitar Main Chords, because in my view main chords never use any open strings. (In this context "chords" is synonymous with "patterns" or "shapes")
Our plan to begin with is to learn the chords of A, then E7, then D - in that order - by which time you will then have the basic chords to The 12 Bar Blues, and probably hundreds of other tunes.
We are of course restricted to non-copyrighted material.
